Recently DisruptHR had a Chihacks event where they used design thinking to solve for Diversity Hiring for Farmer’s Fridge, a Chicago area company who wanted to ensure that their workforce mirrored their customer diversity. The teams used design thing techniques to come up several great options for the company- including hiring practices, training, community
outreach, customer involvement etc. Design thinking uses innovative techniques to solve the issue in a nontraditional manner. In the process, it also gave examples of how traditional processes can be improved. So yes, design thinking can absolutely be used to solve real-world HR issues
