This is always a difficult time as the premiums will most likely go up. In my opinion the best practice is to be transparent and make sure people understand the changes for the upcoming year. Running multiple training sessions before the open enrollment begins is always a good idea.
Send a follow up email before and after to understand the process. If there is system involved have a demo or webinar to make them understand the same. After the enrollment process verify the process and send a survey to all the employees of how satisfied the enrollment went through and if there is anything that they need to make changes .
